Date skied: 1/15/06
Area skied: Blue Mountain
Surface conditions: loose granular, some packed powder.
The rain that we had last night only changed into a brief period of about 1" of new snow that did not help the skiing at all.
My son and I started out the day at 9:30am and we got tickets good until 12:30 that cost me $32 and Warren was free. This is one of the few areas that I know of that sells morning tickets every day of the week.
The temperature was 19F when we started out with very strong winds of 20-25mph with nasty gusts and a harsh wind chill.
Snowmaking was occuring on Paradise which is a long (6000ft) green trail from the summit that had a nice pp surface. Lazy mile also had good snow on it with freshly blown snow.
Crowds where nearly non existant and we got in 8 runs of 1,000 vertical each on the hsq lift.
