My son had races at Blue Mt this past weekend so it was a road trip of sorts for us. Friday Feb 3rd. With the team meeting in the upper lodge at 7:15 am we were there early. After registering the racer and getting our lift tickets my wife and I got on the snow at opening. Spent the morning doing a sweep from west to east of Blue. Light Friday crowds kept the snow pretty nice and we hit everyething except Razors Edge which was closed for the race and Paradise which was closed for grooming. Broke to watch my sons 1st run and then lunch. There were some nice bumps on Nightmare and they had just reseeded Barney's Bumps on Main Street. After lunch I went to try out Barney's for a run and hit a bad patch of ice and really tweaked my knee. Though in pain skied out the rest of the day and watched the race. Iced the knee all night but decided not to ski Saturday because I was going to Vermont on Sunday night and thought it needed rest. We did watch the race and I can report you could see conditions breaking down much quicker then Friday but it wasn't really that crowded. My son had a fairly good race and I was very happy for him.

Sunday Feb 5th. The knee felt better so I climbed onto the ski's again and am glad I did. Skied a couple of runs then saw Root who I recognized from skiing with him before. Skied up to him and got introduced to Atomic Jeff and GSS. Enjoyed 3 or 4 fun high speed runs with those guys on Lazy Mile, Dream Maker and Paradise. We took off down Paradise to see if we could get the Red Coats to whistle us down but there were none to be found. Had a good time with those guys and hope to run into them again. Conditions Sunday broke down pretty quickly though I wouldn't say it was packed. Spent the rest of the day watching the race. A very icy course was tough on a lot of racers and I'm happy to say that my son completed both runs and while not a Olympian got a decent result. Blue like Camelback could certainly use snow or just cold weather but I had a good time and wouldn't mind going back for another day if thing improve.

Yes. They will station the ski patrol in the shadows around corners with whistles and ticket books. They will pull you over and give you a written warning about going too fast.

Who...or what...is "banned" exactly?

Hey guys, anyone know if Blue currently has any seeded bumps???

They did on Monday, Feb 13. They had them on Main Street (Barney's Bumps - on skier's right again this year) and also a short section on Nightmare. Unfortunately, no bumps on Challenge so far this year. For some reason, their website has yet to reflect the bump status.

The lines were fun and enjoyable. I just wish there were more of them. I essentially skied only those two trails for about five hours.

I went for a couple hrs and the had them on Barney's, Challenger, Racers Edge I believe and also on that steep pitch at the bottom of I think Challenger near the lift. They were hard as rocks bc of the lack of snow but they were skiable and kudos to the mt for putting them up!
