Of the electronics to be attached to while skiing, music would be one of the least dangerous (texting or talking on the phone while physically going down a trail is MUCH worse). However, I agree it's definitely still distracting to yourself and others to having music blasting out of speakers. Skiing is one of the faster paced things you can do with your body, so distractions are not good.

Texting while skiing? I've seem people (preteens & teens) do this at the top, but I cant recall seeing people texting while going down a trail. That's begging for a Darwinian result.

I've seen people ski while holding a phone out in front, but I figured it was the attempt for a selfie without the stick. That or they couldn't dislodge it.

Elk Last year , Got off the lift headed for Tunkhannock . Looked for traffic from skiers right , teen with her arms fully extended and mittens hanging by sleeves . We're on a collision course ,she saw me but didn't even try to make a move ! Headed straight down and didn't miss a key . Wish I'd had my camera going . She was good too . I was speechless

Right where I want to be
I've seen and experienced far more "cool kids" IN THEIR 30's than I have in their teen years, using the bluetooth speakers for all to hear (and that comes from someone who typically takes a few runs a day through the Carinthia section of Mount Snow where a large percentage of the folks using that part of the mountain are school age (middle school through college age) )

Just because someone thinks one type of music is great, doesn't mean that everyone thinks it great - this concept is lost a some folks, especially in liftline queues!

Well you ski with all the cool people from NY and CT at Mount snow. :)

Additionally music in the middle of a trail would kill some of the serenity of being on a mountain.

Mt snow used to blast music on Bear Trap.

Don't forget to give some love to the MA and native VT peeps as well who share the slopes with me (and listen to the occasional blue tooth speakers blaring ;-) )

That intellectually challenged troll is blocked, so I'll only see his posts if you quote him (so don't). A review of his (thin) history demonstrates virtually every post is a troll comment.

His posts are an indictment of the public school system.

Moderator, that's an attack.
He's only blocked me because he shuns the truth.
Darwin will likely find him in fetal position.

Unpleasant music is pretty low on a list of pet peeves at a public ski area.
Buying a lift ticket doesn't entitle you to much other than lift access.
All the rest is up to you and your ski group.

This site is consistently weak in topics and material.
Hope the add sales are working for you.

Absolutely terrifying. Don't see it too often, but I've definitely seen it before at a few different areas. Definitely begging for a Darwinian result.

this music thing drives me crazy, every where you go it seems they play music, can't carry on a conversation with all the background music blaring. restaurants, bars, decks, ski lodges ,shops, job sites.people with helmet buds don't bother me, I can't hear it when i'm skiing ,but this new thing with the hanging BT speaker blaring is just another form of noise pollution!!
