I generally avoided that area - seemed narrow and I was told in the spring the markers are often in the wrong place as you eluded to earlier.
It's fine in the marked channel. It's on either side that's troublesome. There's not good delineation where the trouble stops and the safe water starts. I have an I/O engine that drafts 37" when down. It also has dual props. So if I clip a rock it's double trouble.

yikes! I hit a rock near witches and it tilted my drive unit up a little. Had it checked and was ok Blades were never hit just the skeg but that too was good.
I drove into some sand here in florida by accident with our pontoon rental 
Spent many a summer up there! Went through the Graveyard quite a few times as it was near where we stayed with friends. My dad's buddy took my dad tubing through there one afternoon and the tube clipped a buoy. Ahhh, the 1980's.....
Anyways, fun lake. You can practically see rocks in the Graveyard, then you get our towards the Broads and the lake is really really deep. I have an old lake map from the 70's. There's all sorts of crazy stuff at the bottom in some areas; old ferries, rail cars...

Yesterday was pretty successful for me, finally making it to Isles of Shoals, which I’ve never seen up close. Saw a ton of seals getting sun on the rocks. It felt 20 degrees cooler than Portsmouth, which was a nice break. Killed the engine and floated for over an hour listening to tunes. Seas were a bit rough for my novice tastes on previous attempts to make it that far.
One thing about using a boat club is a previous user may have left things a bit awry like a ladder is still down or the trim tabs are set weird. I’ve been messing with trim tabs and trimming the engine. Seems like a bit of an art form.

Yes, trim tabs and engine trim can really help with the ride.
My first boat didn't have tabs. My current boat does. I would not want a boat without them now that I have them.

Can you trim an inboard motor?
As for the tabs, not all of the boats I use have a position indicator for them. That can leave me guessing a bit. If you push them up or down the trim motor just keeps on running, even if they’re fully up or down. Don’t like that.
Yes, you can trim an inboard / outboard.
My tabs don't have indicators (wish they did), but the motor stops running for them once you stop pressing the buttons. So, I just play around with them when I'm on plane until I find the ride I like.

Yeah, it’s situational with tons of variables for how much sense it makes. For us, it seems a good fit. The club here maxed out on members after a story on NH Chronicle came out a couple of weeks ago. Like us, a lot of people still aren’t traveling so some spare disposable income to use. Now the club is searching for more boat slips in the area.
Finally, one COVID shortage I came out ahead on. I’m usually miles behind it feels like.
Pretty great few days on Winnipesaukee. My parents were up from Florida, brother and his wife came over from Maine, a couple of uncle's , Aunts and Cousins all convened at the Center Harbor Inn. Two full days of boating around the lake with folks who never got to experience the lake prior like this. This Inn is about 12 miles up lake from our marina and has slips. So we arrived by boat. Great beach for our 6 and 2 year old to hang on. Sweet hot tub that was my 6 year old boy's first time enjoying that. Now just chilling on the back of my boat alone at night with a beverage, content to having a reconnection with family after a couple year lapse.

Winnie is a nice big lake for boating. I've kayaked it a few times. Of course somewhat limited due to the distance that can be covered by a kayak in a single day. Gorgeous scenery with the mountains surrounding the lake.
If it weren't for the Covid business, I'd love to go back up there again.

Isle of Shoals is a gorgeous ride.
If you have not checked them out, there are a ton of great apps for the phone that give you NOAA marine forecasts (wind, waves etc) also tides etc that can be really helpful when planning a day.
Final ride of the season today. Yesterday we wrapped up our Cabana for the winter, today took a final ride then I cleaned up the boat for winter hibernation. The marina is open until November 1st, but with Halloween activities and other plans, this was the weekend to call it. 47 degrees our during our morning run, but a beautiful day.
Shitty weather this summer in NH. One of the rainiest on record. Probably lost 10 days this season due to bad weather. Still got out around 40 days and had a blast.
Time for snow and to ski, but we are so looking forward to getting back on the water again around May 1st, 2022.

Where do you store the furniture from the cabana?
We have a storage unit here in town and have been gradually schlepping stuff down over the past month. We took out about 80% of it. Truthfully could have left everything but the couch cushions. Most people do. We need to stain the deck in the spring though. So, having less stuff to move will make that easier.
