Never been there. Checked out the website and it looks pretty inviting. I thought there was no night skiing in Vermont. $28-$30 4 hour night skiing. Not too bad. It would be fun to stay at the hotel and ski all day and again at night. It's 165 miles and 3 1/2 hours drive from Troy. Probally would keep going to Stowe. Looks like a great place though.

Incorrect my friend!

Stowe and Bolton are two major VT resorts that offer night skiing.

The Lyndon Outing Club in the NEK also offers night skiing...au naturale style with no snowmaking.

Northeast Slopes in East Corinth may as well...

Yeah it just goes to show you how out of touch you become once you get into the ASC ALL4ONE pass and are on a limited ski budget. You get locked into Snow/Killington.

True that is!

I'm kind of surprised that none of the ASC resorts have gone to night skiing to capture another market. Imagine having night skiing at say, Pico or part of Attitash. Maybe even a few trails at Snow. Different crowd, but more overhead.

Doesn't Stowe only have like one or two trails open at night??

Yeah, it's one run from the Gondola Thurs-Sat nights.

so about bolton valley... the place doesnt look good at all after I looked at a topo map. The max vertical you get in a continious run is 1,000 ft and there is only one steep part on the whole mountain and it is only 400 vertical ft. The rest of the mountain looks totally flat. Am I missing something? Is there some sick hike to terrian in that middle peak? I know they get good snow, but if the mountains flat it doesnt help

I'm told there are some decent lines to hike to on the middle peak, but haven't ventured there myself. Bolton is rather flat and lacks verticle. Its appeal is the 'old timey' feel the place offers with narrow winding trails and minimal crowds. The night skiing is fairly extensive to, which is great for after school programs in the area. I've certainly never felt all that challenged there though.

I have only night skied at Bolton and it was decent...decent but not that great. Lower Mountain is pretty flat. The pitch was interesting off of the old double that is now gone. The other mointain, Ricker I think, has some interesting stuff.

Don't expect anything too wild in bounds, but the DesLauriers did get their start here. Some interesting place OB and great BC options.

I am looking at the map and I can't determine vertical from it; however, the left side of the mountain has some hiking and backcountry glades. As TrailBoss indicated above, the middle of the mountain looks too open to not have some good lines.

The Nov 05 issue of Backcountry is showing an event for telemarkers on December 3rd and 4th.
