Larry Williams, co-owner of Bolton, stated that the resort saw about 20% less skier revenue than on average, and will likely break even or close to it. He also commented that the 1,200 acre parcel of wilderness land that the XC and BC ski operations are on is in the process of being sold to a non-profit that will help to preserve access. This is different from a year ago when it was reported that this parcel was going to a private owner who was going to build a camp on it and close access. Williams also said that the area has 6,000 passholders, with about 85% being from Chittenden County alone.
Parker Riehle, from the Vermont Ski Areas Association, said that they are predicting that the season for the state will be down, but with California having a terrible season, there is a chance that Vermont may place second behind Colorado for visits. He praised Vermont's snowmaking capacity as saving the season and that without it only 5% of Vermont's terrain would have been open. He also said that the national media, and warm weather in the metro areas, hurt the most, despite the fact that Vermont had snow.
