Depends on the location & day of the week.

Ex.

Blue Mountain, weekdays, just stash the bag somewhere out of sight, but on a weekend, I'll use an cable lock to secure it to the leg of a table.

Windham, anyday, - stuff the bag into an empty locker, but I'm too cheap to pay for the locker.

Killington, same as Blue Mountain. Unless it's a power day, then I'll do the cable lock thing.

I don't keep a lot of extra stuff in my bag, a tower, some energy bars, maybe a goggle lens of a different color, some old boots and socks. The bag is worth more to me than it's contents.

You know, I'd be more inclined to boot up in the lodge if the lodge had a free bag check. That's something I think all lodges should have. Navigating the boot bag slalom to find a seat for a bite to eat is annoying.

Mount Snow's free bag check is GREAT! And since they instituted it a couple of seasons ago, there's SO much more room around and under the tables in the base lodge since there not all filled up with bags. That move was a solid +10 in my book

Props to Mount Snow for that...one reason I avoid lodges is all the crap everywhere..I hate how people think they can reserve a table for the day with a bootbag..

Mostly in the Lodge, no matter where I'm skiing.
At my local hill, we almost have a ritual where we sit by the fireplace and have coffee while we boot up, usually chatting with Dave, the weatherman. By the time we've completed our ritual, we go out and wait in line for first chair.
Ahhhhhh, got me jonesing just thinking about it.

Talking about your socks there?

nope...not offensive enough, I own more than one pair and we've got this cool machine at home called a washing machine. I hire a pygmy dude to hide in my bag while I'm skiing...he's lethal with a blow gun. used to keep a miniature doberman in there but one powder day I forgot to walk him in the middle of the day...
