So this coming saturday I'm headed out to Breckenridge for week. I'm super stoked to say the least.

Anyone have any advice for trails I should hit? Bars or restaurants? Things to do? Places to see?

I'm also going to be hitting Vail for a day or two. The back bowls are already on my list but again, any "can't miss" type trails or areas?

I really wanted to hit the Lake Chutes at Breck but unless they get an epic storm I doubt they'll be open. :(

Restaurants and bars id definitely hit up the brewery for happy hour good food good beer and awesome deals. $2 pint $6 pitchers. Fattys pizzeria is also another great little spot for some food after skiing. Haven't been to many other restaurants in town. If you pick up a summit county booklet there are some coupons in there for different restaurants around town.

Haven't been at breck since they got some snow this week I've been north in Montana and Wyoming but ill check out the scene end of this week and put up a TR of newly opened trails which should help.

Are you bringing your gear out with you? AMR located in city market plaza is where id suggest if you need to rent equipment.

As far as sightseeing hoosier pass is cool to hit the continental divide and other than that driving between breck and vail is pretty easy on the eyes.

Thanks Stef! $2 pints! I'll be there!

If you see a ginger with the cooky jacket in my profile pic, come say hi. I'll buy you a beer!

if you end up in Frisco looking for a meal check out Silverheels Bar and Grill. We ate there last year on the way back from Vail. HIGHLY recommend the bacon wrapped filet.

Thanks for the tip. But really, recommending the bacon wrapped filet is like recommending sleeping with Jessica Alba. Kinda obvious. LOL ;-)

I haven't been checking their site, but anything off of the T-bar is good stuff. If the Imperial Chair is running, take the whales tale over to Peak 7 and ski from the top down. I love the above tree line stuff on peak 7.

Peak 10 has lots of good stuff as well. The Burn is a great tree area. there are 2 groomers that run right down the front of peak 10 that are great to "let em run". Also, the runs Blackhawk and Mustang I think are good and have a nice southeast exposure, so if you need some soft snow that is a nice place to go.

If the Windows are open, that's also a real cool tree area.

I really haven't skied much off of Peak 8 or 9, those areas are pretty crowded. Peak 7 has nice blue groomers that are fun to rip.

We usually stay in Silverthorne where a friend lives so we I don't have any recomendations for Breck food or beverage.

In Frisco you have to stop at Q4U, if you like BBQ It's right along the road that goes to Breck from I-70 near the walmart. It's pretty damn good. Also Pica Bagel shop has some great breakfast fare.

Looking forward to reading both of your trip reports -- I'm heading out in a little over two weeks.

Last time I was out there - Peak 10 had some great steeps and pow. Backside of Peak 9, E-chair, had some pretty gnarly and cool terrain..... Peak 9 otherwise has groomers for starting/ending day.... 6 chair, sweet... but slow... if you see untouched pow on the sides of the trail, but the whole thing otherwise is tracked out, locals know there is rocks under there.... lookout, thats where I core shoted my new, now defunct board.... Peak 8, seemed to be the most crowded-- I'd say skip it if you had to skip one.... Imperial, depends on wind/snow.... hit or miss. Peak 7 -- easy blue cruisers, nice apres at base, go between any trails and find the low-angle glades.....

Rock Out!

I like to play pool and drink cheap PBR tall boys in the Gold Pan Saloon. Close by is Mother's, which will surely give you a heart attack but is somehow pretty good

If you are going to be in Breckenridge with a car I suggest going to Arapahoe Basin for a day at least. There is some great skiing off of the Pali chair and in the Montezuma Basin off of the "backside" if there has been fresh snow. There are some hike to chutes too if the steeps off of the Pali chair aren't enough.

At Breck I like some of the lines off of the T bar into some of the bowls in addition to the areas mentioned by others like the Burn.

even without a car i'd recommend it. The public transportation in/around Breck is pretty good. you can jump on a bus @ the gondola base of Breck and be dropped off at the ABasin lodge. i think it was a 45 minute trip but i found it worthwhile.

i also took the bus from Breck to Copper. a transfer was needed but it was doable. keystone is also on the bus route.

I don't think we'll be hitting A-basin but our passes are good at Vail too so we're planning to hit the back bowls for a day or two.

I'm really just hoping to get some good snow and ride my face off for 6 days. Hopefully drinking lots of water and plenty of hot tub time will keep me going.

Your passes should be good for Breck, Keystone, A- Basin, Vail & Beaver Creek.
