Last year on 12/27, we hit Sugarbush during a major storm and had an incredible day, complete with coming face to face with a moose.

This year, we audibled from our orig plan of hitting Loon and instead drove another 30 min to B Woods. We just had a feeling the conditions/crowds would be better.

despite long lines at the two base area HS quads, you really never waited more than 10 min. Ski-on at rosebrook and west Mtn.

Unfortunately, none of the good stuff (glades) was open. trails with fresh snowmaking skied very well, dust on crust (but manageable) otherwise.

We were on the Mtn a bit after 9 and called it quits around 2:30, favoring a drink at the mt Washington hotel over one more lap off the zephyr.

A fun day, a nice lil squall came thru around 11 am. As flat as the place is, it has some great tree skiing both off rosebrook and west Mtn. A place I like to go when it's 100% open..

The base area was a freaking zoo at lunchtime. Some of the more popular trails were human pinball skiing at times, like wachusett-esque. No big deal, but it was def holiday week skiing.

The end

I was there on the 25th, and had many of the same thoughts. They really only have enough open to keep me entertained for a half day right now. It is a completely different mountain when the glades are open. The new T bar area is a lot of fun. I also enjoy the short but twisty trails off of the Rosebrook summit chair.
