Started with a few miles on the rail trail to warm up but ventured off into Brooksvale park for some exploratory riding. Although I've done a little hiking at Brooksvale in the past today was the first MTB ride there and definitely found some nice trails to ride.

Ended up riding almost 9 miles with the stuff on the rail trail but only managed around 2.5 miles at Brooksvale as darkness was approaching. The 2.5 miles comprised a nice loop of double and single track with a good climb and an equally good downhill section. I spotted plenty of other trails so I'm excited to go back for another ride to further explore some time soon.

Anyway here's the track......

Yes, it's in Cheshire/Hamden.

Brooksvale park actually abuts the Naugatuck State Forest so there's plenty of open space up there to ride around on. Believe it or not there was once a rope tow at this park....

I was there years ago and all I remember is a killer hill at the beginning of the trail(looking at the CF elevation chart, looks like you went up it too!)

Will try to head over there for a ride sometimes.

Is that the place the Skidmarks did a skiing TR from earlier this year?

Maybe I'll have to check it out sometime, my Mom lives in Hamden.

I could easily hit that up on the way home from work. I might be down for a ride there.

Brooksvale is definitely worth checking out. They have some really fun trails..the good stuff is mostly in the Naugy State Forest area.
