Date(s) Skied: Friday 3/4/11

Resort or Ski Area: Burke, VT

Conditions: PP, Sunny, 20s

Trip Report:

Got up there around 2:30 and only managed 4 runs, but they were 4 good ones. Place was packed due to the girls' state championship today. Actually had (very short) lines at the quad on a Friday... who would've guessed.

Anyways, I hit Shoot to Birches, Doug's Woods to Marshland, Jungle, and Fox's to Little Chief. Everything was in great shape. Groomers were very nice PP... very carvable even with all the added traffic. Natural stuff has great cover and soft. Glades still had some freshies in them. Fun series of jumps at the bottom of open slope.

I'll be at Cannon tomorrow... looking like some rain's moving in tomorrow night but changing to snow Sunday and that'll carry into Monday, looks like a potential for 6". Hopefully the rain doesn't do much damage beforehand. Great spring shaping up, lots of snow everywhere.

Was also there Friday. Gorgeous day, excellent skiing. Each time I'm there I like Burke ven more than the last visit

Crowded...that's funny. I'd say the lodge was crowded...not the trails. Never waited to get on a chair and rarely spotted anyone else on the trails. Racers weren't using much of the mountain...later in the day they grabbed a second trail. Drove up in the AM and skied nonstop from 11-4...wish there were more hours in a day like that!

You gotta think that I ski a lot of weekdays there and this was the first time all year I wasn't able to park in the front row in front of mid burke. :D
