Doesn't matter. His question was East Bowl and there is a consensus here (even you agree because you say "it depends" and then waffle). And fwiw I grew up at Burke and adhere to the local custom of skiing rather than talking a big game or being a jackass.

yeah sure whatever, do you even snowboard? dmw don't listen to folks who skied not rode there 50 yrs ago and give bs advice. i ride day in/out and go for it. do not hit east bowl trail but eb glades, so hit only throb, caveman, dixieland after coming out of sasquatch or powerline into lower wilderness, the run-out will be the least of your probs. have fun ! :)

You definitely have to work to get out of EB on a powder day or not but that has never stopped me from hitting EBl at least a few times every time I go.

Easy boys... I was actually thinking that whole side was collectively known as East Bowl, though curious about the trail as well. Seeing as there's snow falling down the street from the mountain right now, tomorrow should be a good day to test it all out and report back. I'm psyched to ride Burke for the first time.

if you see a troll speeding by you out in East Bowl, that's our boy Troy - the dude's a legend in his own mind.

Not sure why people are giving troy shit. He was just offering a differing opinion as someone that is a boarder as opposed to skiers providing commentary.

For coming out of East Bowl (as a skier), it all depends on the day. If the snow is packed, then you can get by with minimal skating and poling. Powder day? A little more work. It doesn't seem very snowboard friendly but I'm not sure that is a good reason not to ride it even if you don't have good flat boarding skills. Boarders hike for sidecountry and the like all the time, just like skiers. And worse case, it isn't a hike but rather clipping out a leg and skating for a bit. I think a word of warning seems prudent to boarders that might not care for that experience. But I also think any one into glades is going to want to do it regardless.

Nobody is giving him sh!t for a different opinion. He is getting shit for using disrespectful language towards a long established member as well as making assumptions about said member. In civil discourse we strive to express our differences of opinion in ways which do not insult those who those who may see things otherwise.

Go back and reread troy's original post. He only gave shit because he got shit on (by a mod, no less, who suggested troy hadn't read the OP before posting...). He said something was BS and horse crap. He called someone else out for providing information he thought was not accurate. Big whoop de do. Hardly disrespectful, IMO. The disrespect flew both ways after troy's original post, which on two rereadings, does not sound disrespectful at all. If I read something I really don't agree with, I call BS too.

Hey Troy,

I see what you are saying.

I was last there 10 days ago. I did East Glades and had a blast. I'm pushing 60yo and that runout gets longer every year :) Ten years ago, I could do that runout, from all the glades two or three times a day. Not so much any longer one run was it for me.

My point is that what you can handle depends on your stamina of course. that aspect has been entirely left out of this discussion, or at least not everyone is considering it. So, we all have opinions, what we like, what we find troublesome, but it's different for everyone.

The for newbies to note is that the runout isn't "flat" in the classic sense. There are a lot of small ups and downs, which add up!
