They definitely don't. However there is night skiing in town at Lyndon Outing Club (if they're open yet). I went there once when I was in college after a modest 8" storm. Went up the TBar at opening before ski patrol even went up. Pretty sure it took an hour before I ever had to ski through someone else's tracks. Pretty cool night. I think it was $12 but that was 15 years ago.

Bolton can be quite pleasant on spring evenings as well.

I've also had some really enjoyable turns there with seasonal temps, but I very much get why night skiing is a tough product to sell (it makes way more sense as an after-work or after-school option than a vacation activity, at least to me).

I don't see them either so I got curious and called. I get "call failed" on all numbers I tried. Something weird happening there.

Maybe the massive Verizon outage had something to do with it ?

i have not been to burke in ages and im stoked. glad to see they are getting some snow today. hopefully the lower mixing doesnt do any nastiness.
How was Burke - also havent been there for years. Thinking of this weekend.

i could have pivoted yesterday to vermont or quebec, but im locked into a bethel hotel now.

i am being stubborn. long weekends i like to get to places that are further away, and maine is still quite far for me, even living in the hudson valley . and i dont want to burn jay and bolton days right now.

the GFS keeps showing a noreaster on Sunday > Monday, but it keeps wobbling between being coastal vs out to sea. out to sea seems to be winning. id love for that to make a hard left turn and give us a monday maine powder day.

watching radar and webcames and it looks like snow to me north of route 2 in maine. hopefully some accumulating showers thru the weekend.
Some Quebec resorts on Indy now - Sutton and Owls head. Seem to be mostly open. Never skied at Sutton but my friend said they have very good tree skiing

As someone who has probably a few hundred night skiing sessions over my ski career, including plenty at West Mountain which was my home hill for many years growing up, the key is having some light, high light transmittance goggle lenses! Often the coverage of the lights on the side of the trails will have some darker areas in between that makes visualizing the snow surface challenging in places

I went to Sutton for the first time a few weeks ago and loved it. It skis like mad river glen or western places in that trails are somewhat hard to discern and it’s more like “zones”. Short poddy vertical and slow lifts but big fun.

I haven’t been to Burke yet. I’m going this weekend

Burke is a really cool place. Kind of has a bunch of the Magic feel to it, but with 2 high speed quads. And if the Burke Mtn Academy athletes are training, you often get to see some elite level racers laying down some crazy edge angles from the upper quad as they train on Warren's

I was at LSC the same 4 years Mikaela Shiffrin was at BMA. I probably unknowingly watched her fly down Warren's hundreds of times. Probably "accidentally" skied over her skis once or twice when the BMA kids would leave their skis all over creation around the front of the Mid Burke Lodge 😆

Definitely hope the snow whips into shape at Burke over the next couple weeks, would love to get back into some of my favorite lines in the woods. It's been over a decade since I've really skied the place fully open...hope I remember where to find some of my stashes!

I used to only ski at night... Then I started getting a full season pass and now I rarely ski at night. If I do its an after work session that blends into night with the lights on.

At Roundtop night skiing = all of the crazy kids and low skill skiers. Its best to avoid...

I meant I haven’t been to Burke yet this season/in several years. I have been to Burke many times! Love the terrain. I can do without ski racers tho, even ones who don’t suck!

WHAT?!?!

That’s impossible.

Why impossible? Until two months ago I lived in/near NYC, so it wasn’t like i could just boop to west mountain quick and easy for bad skiing at night.

As I type this I remember I did a mountain creek nj night session one time. I have been night skiing once, in New Jersey. Lol

I also ripped the fuck out of the 200 foot hill from bk heights to dumbo at night during a blizzard

When i was less than half my age, I day tripped to Killington, tellied bell to bell, then drove 3 hours back to CT and tellied Ski Sundown until they closed at ten. Made for a full day!

Day tripping magic, going directly to Levon’s in Woodstock for a marco benevento gig with the ramble band, then driving home to Brooklyn, may be my longest day involving skiing

True story - Marco and his kid were eating across the restaurant from me a few days ago in Kingston
