Trip Report: Every once in while it pays to have a good home mountain and today was that day. Was supposed to go to Mt Snow and Gore this weekend but the forecast had scared me away and the future cast I saw on Friday had rain for the Pocono's as well Sat morning and I thought I probably wouldn't ski. But we woke up to partially clear sky's and shipped off to Camelback. The morning featured nice softening snow on the groomers and nice sunny warm weather and nobody there. Skied Nile Mile twice, Big Pocono twice and every other way down at least once. At 11 started lapping a well bumped up Lower Cleopatra and enjoyed the rest of my day over there till about 1. A perfect combination of temp, snow and bumps made for a steller day. Great job by the snowmaking/grooming crews and management who see the light with the bumps. Its wonderful to have them up so early in the season.
