Trip Report:
Today was my first day at Cannon this year so I showed up early to pick up my pass then headed to the lodge to boot up. It was just a bit over 20 degrees at the base but felt warmer because of the lack of wind. It snowed throughout the day with no accumulation in the parking lot and about an inch up on the hill.
I was on the chair shortly before 9:00 and enjoyed some sweet conditions, especially for early December. Today was also my first day out on my new skis so I spent my time before lunch alternating between Middle/Lower Cannon and Links > Spookie > Gremlin to get a feel for the boards. Both of those runs were in great condition for letting the skis run and shredding fast arcs down the hill. I stopped for lunch at 11:00 and then headed over to Garys for a mix of manmade and natural snow in an ungroomed state. There is quite a bit of snow on Rocket and Garys which will get groomed out soon I would think. I ended my day with a few more runs off the quad and left very satisfied.
