I didn't ski...only climbed to the summit of Cannon on Sunday Jan 18th. But I watched some of the skiers going down from the tramway and it appeared the conditions were decent, but a little thin in places. I was able to hike up and down the edge of a short upper section of trail to the left of the tramway. It was open for skiing, but half of it was glassy sheet ice (requiring crampons for climbing) and rocks and vegetation and totally unsuitable for skiing, so I used that area in order not to interfere with skiers. Otherwise I would have stayed in the woods. More snow is definitely needed up north...a 2-foot dumping would be much appreciated I'm sure! It did not appear to be very crowded, the tramway parking lot was perhaps 25% full.

I skied Cannon on the 22 of January 04. Thank God for man made snow. We happened to have one of the best days ever. Figured we got about 25 runs in for the day. Almost a record. Here was the shocker, very little ice was encountered all day. Was this really Cannon? I love that mountain. Love it even more when people tell me how much they hate Cannon. Good, take the Loon exit with everyone else.

RIP, Old Man of the Mountain!

Have a great winter!
