Perfect day today, deep blue bird, surfaces excellent, no crowds, no wind, lifts ran, good people, good times. Back at it tomorrow for day #80.
Wow 80?

I was there. Explored seldom skied stuff. Got into some stuff I should not have been in solo and man it was pretty wild stuff! Cannon in it's current state is hard to beat

Saturday was my first trip over the saddle and into Mittersill. What a fun area! Glades, fresh tracks, speedway groomers and no lines. It seemed like it's own "indy" mountain all on its own. Has anyone stayed at the Alpine Resort? It looks exactly like the place I would love to spend a weekend at.

Did you mean Mittersill Alpine Resort ? Never stayed their.
New Tram ? status after high bid of 29 m + was rejected back when bid in Oct 2023. Anyone know if this will be rebid soon or were additional $$ appropriated / approved ?
was suppose to go with a design-bid-build basis which may be more cost effective and may attract more bidders than design-build.
It’s 45-46 yrs old now how long can it run ? Covid $$ and state is tapping rainy day fund to balance budget. I better get my tram laps in.

Major news at cannon today, the bubbler is gone. Rumors they are coming for the payphone next are unsubstantiated.
Is that upstairs at Peabody?

I'm cheating on Cannon again with burke today i assumed that south wind would be a pain In the ass.

I noticed the other day that the Huckerbrook handle tow appears to be dismantled. Anyone know what's going on with it? It's the only lift remaining that was there when I started skiing Cannon as a kid, 50 (?!) years ago.

Handletow was reported as 'down for mechanical reasons' for the night session on Saturday. Currently bellied up at Cannonball and I see no work underway. Pure conjecture but would not be shocked if jace prefers a carpet over there.

Classic cannon today, April at the bottom, January at the top. Zoomer and mitt both decent but scraped. Time for some variety, going to mix in some loon and SR this week.

Right where I want to be
My buddy and I got in trouble when I was in school for dialing 911 on the pay phone outside the cafe at school a few times a week for a month.
On another note I drove through the notch today and the wind wasn’t bad until I got north of Cannon.
Went up to Jericho hill in Sugarhill for a real nice skin up and ski down today. Granite alliance does some nice work!
