Front Five is next after Mittersill is up and running for the racers. Extension and Bypass will also be going. Goal is to have these up and running by 12/20. Tram is running only to bring up personnel and supplies on a limited basis. Tramway board would not pass it for normal operation.
I heard the same today when I checked in for my ambassador shift today. Need to remember its still only Dec 7. Two years ago this was opening weekend.

Been wondering for a while, if Cannon's tram needs complete replacement (with the possible exception of towers as it's been suggested here IIRC) then why is the Jay tram, being 14 years older (1966 vs 1980), not waaay the heck overdue for replacement? Obviously all trams are not the same and I imagine Cannon's got more non-ski season use than Jay's over the years. But 14 years is still a big age difference...

Be intresting if the number of operatings hours, and number of passangers hauled / trips was avaiable for both trams somewhare ?
I can’t say whether the info is available for you, but yes Cannon has it. I’d like to look at it also, just to see how often the Tram went up with only one skier (and the operator)

I feel a little bad how much we trashed Hardscrabble Tuesday, hope you got a chance to enjoy it before it was closed. We wore it out worse than a typical spring day closing. At the start of the day it was soft and flowy, by the end the final steep before Red Ball was more rock, moss, twigs and dirt than skiable snow.

There’s a tram that runs over Barcelona harbor that I rode a few years ago. The cars look very similar to the original tram cars at Cannon. At this point it is almost 100 years old.

I rode that one about 20 years ago. Also this one up to Montserrat, I seem to recall it having concrete towers. Hard to tell in the videos though. Certainly is old, looks like 1930...
