Trip Report:
Hitting the trail at 4:30, I quickly made my way up the Lonesome Lake and Around-Lonsome Lake Trails to the AMC hut arriving at 5:15. After buying a patch (sew-on, for my backpack) and filling my hydration bladder I had a brief supper then headed back around the lake towards the Dodge Cut-off.

It took me about 20 minutes to find the Dodge cut-off, it is poorly marked, especially at the junction with Lonesome Lake trail. Once I found it, i headed over to the Hi-Cannon Trail and proceded up the mountain.

The Hi-Cannon Trail was the first "moderate" trail I'd seen today. The upper portion, from about the ladder up, is very rocky, but there are some great views here as well. The lower portion of the trail has some noticeable erosion problems. It appears people are cutting across the swithbacks on the descents making the trail a little difficult to follow, especially in the twilight.

The Kinsman Ridge trail was in good shape. Next to no mud, and there were no significant blowdowns seen on this hike. I reached the summit at 7:00, spent a few minutes drying off in the wind and admiring the views then headed down reaching the parking area at 8:15pm.

The best part of the day, other than bagging three separate 4000 footers was having the Cannon Tower all to myself. :D
