Pecoy Notch to Twin and over Sugarloaf to Mink Hollow and back Pecoy lot
9 Miles
Moderately difficult
Good conditions, trails mostly clear with only a couple of minor blowdowns. Some slick rock along the way. Trip back to lot from Mink Hollow lean to was moderately muddy and wet.
Starting hiking around 8:30am with only two other cars in the lot. Foggy and overcast for most of the morning which limited the views until around 12 but kept the temps cool and breezy which is always welcome. On a clear day the views from Twin second summit would be great. My first trip to the rock furniture was cool. I will bring my kids back for that. On the way up to Twin there is a large pile of shale that has been made into all kinds of chairs, tables and fireplaces. Sugarloaf was in good shape however there was a decent amount of mud and water on the return trip from Mink Hollow.
