cheap lodging at Jay?

Ending a tour of VT on monday and going to need a spot to stay near Jay.Used to stay at the snowshoe in montgomery center. Still a decent place?Any thing else cheap and ok?

Grampa Grunts right in Montgomery Center just on the other side of the trout river behind the Shoe.
35-40 per nite they make a great breakfast

Stayed there for a night this past December on a Burke/Owls Head combo wknd. Its not fancy by any means but its clean and the rooms look to have been somewhat recently re modeled.
Small continental breakfast was out by 7 and they have a pool and hot tub.
Though hot tub has no jets so it was a little strange sitting in a warm tub of still water with my buddy haha.

It's in a good location, walking distance to a couple places to eat. I'd stay there again.

Weell after checking in at the snoe shoe and having the bartender clear dishes instead of taking my info i got a bad vibe.when i saw the room that had that funky smell and was run down beyond belief as in matresses that resembled a shallow half pipe and rags for towels we got a refund and went to stateside hotel. DO NOT go to the snow shoe.what a shit hole. At least we got a powder day!
