3" at jay when i left shortly before 4 p.m. this wonderful tuesday afternoon. changing back over to NCP when i left too. this storm was a total bust, the snow that fell isn't going to help open any additional terrain but will probably help refreshen the slopes after the rain last night. net gain = nothing.

All positivity is out the window now. Rivercoil, thanks for your reports. I will be heading up to Jay this weekend, haven't been in 3 weeks. We will see what happens. Another poor speculation on the behalf of the weather world. You would think that since most of these so called weather know it alls went to school at Lyndon State they would know a thing or two.

from what i understand, the models flipped flopped everyday leading up to this storm, so no surprise things did not turn out as planned. i doubt most of the weathermen out there went to LSC, there are a lot of good met colleges out there besides LSC especially considering it only has an undergrad program, no grad program available in met.

ryvtcc, the good news if you are heading up to jay is snow making temps are going to allow jay to fire up the guns. maybe you'll have more than three routes to ski by this weekend ;) it certainly won't be worse than it was three weeks ago, so there is some positivity for you :D i'll probably be up there all weekend pending i don't jump off a bridge.

The models really were all over the place....but as the 'storm' got closer, the models did show the storm weakening and also bringing in mixed precip. For met programs, theres really only LSC, Cornell, Penn State, and Plymouth State in the northeast area. I'm working on my met UG at plymouth right now....they now have a grad. program there....new in the last few years.
