For rides that are less criterium and more casual Friday's bicycle commute to the office, we can't recommend Club Ride's Ray Jeans highly enough. They give you all the comfort and style of your favorite pair of jeans, with a few cycling-specific features that recommend them for life in the saddle.
The Rays are made with StretchRide2, a camel case term that combines denim with just a hint of Lycra to maintain the feel you'd expect from jeans but with a little more give so it moves with you while riding and resists deforming when stretched. It's also a lot quicker to dry than typical denim, so you won't spend all day exhibiting the signs of one strenuous effort or the rain you caught during the morning commute. They're also pre-shrunk, so whether they get wet in the rain or washing machine you can dry them with impunity.
The gusseted crotch increases freedom of movement and durability, and eliminates seams in the area, an effect that speaks for itself. The NoCrackBack feature also speaks for itself, but we'll say it anyway: Say not to crack. Your friends don't want to see it and your fellow commuters definitely don't want to see it. Reflective detailing on the side pocket, belt loop, and inside the right pant leg help keep you visible in low-light conditions.
