Anything over the Throgs Neck bridge is Upstate...

One person who is good at predicting snow on Facebookcrappy grew up in the town if Turrin I asked her she said North NY. Glad for all who got ski powder today looking forward to trip reports.

Yet another stellar opening day at Snow Ridge. The snow was knee deep, and quite heavy. It was a good combination, dense enough to keep you off the ground, there was no base, not too deep to keep moving, it ain't the steepest pitch. Skied from opening, 10, until 3. The lift line stretched to the lodge for a good part of the day, but moved quickly. The rest was welcome, got 11 runs in.

My new powder skis performed beautifully, keeping even my fat ass from bottoming out. They skied the chopped up snow in the afternoon well too. If I ever get my weight down to the 200lb neighborhood, they should perform even better, asking any ski to float 250lbs, is asking a lot.

Nice pics. I thought about the 4 1/2 hour ride for the fresh, but could not justify it for 500 vert. WROD for me for a while longer. Way to get it.

Rode up with Cornhead. A good turnout with quite a few skiers/boarders/tele-peoples.
A few more pics:

A pic of Cornheads new Volkl Kuro's powder skis - 132 underfoot - 164/132/139
We drove up to Snow Ridge, from Binghamton NY 150 miles and it was a two and 1/2 hour drive.
On the way back, we took a slightly longer route so we could eat at Brooks BBQ in Oneonta.

I sadly could not make it to the ridge yesterday. Thanks for taking the time to post the pics and report. Just hearing your comment about Brooks made me hungry. I know another Place that has quickly become a very popular BBQ restaurant. Its called Ray Brothers BBQ,and It's actually the best I've ever had anywhere in the country. Yes, its that good. Be careful with the rbq smokehouse ale, they're dangerous because BBQ sauce and beer actually tastes awesome.

It is an easy side track off 12 to Bouckville from sangerfield. It's actually on the corner of 26 and 20, so you can then head south to sherberne and hit 12 again.

Why? You already said you are not skiing before New Years. So why does it matter anyways? Can't have it both ways.
Hmm. I already answered that question once. OK, short memory... I count on November/December for base building for January. And the resorts make a boatload of money during xmas week in order to subsidize my cheap skiing.

In other words you are a poser and it would not have if you lived there. So why don't you conserve some bytes since tu would not be skiing anyways.
