Cool sighting this afternoon.

We were out in the yard w/the kids after lunch today and I hear a helicopter and look up. It's actually a C130(I think) tanker fueling two blackhawks. They were flying slowly and fairly low right over town. You could see the fuel line trailing the plane and hooked up to the blackhawk with another following closely. The one that was fueling broke off just as they were heading out of sight. Very cool and I was so suprised to see it I didn't think to get the camera until it was too late.

I've seen C-130's fuel choppers over The South Shore bays, they frequently preform manuvers in the vacinity of the westhampton air base

I always used to see P-3 Orions flying around the Sugarloaf area when I worked there for a couple summers. Can anyone explain that? Submarines in Carrabassett ?

No it was a C130, this is basically what I saw:

I knew it would be a ?-130 vs "30".

The "KC-130" is the refuleing variant.

There's a jet tanker that also has the "K" designation. Never thought there was a 130 version.
