I personally like Middle Earth and Organgrinder at Sugarbush. I also think "The Mall" is pretty cool too, as skiing that run is just about the complete antithesis of actually being in a mall...

My dad skied at SB a lot when he was in college, and I seem to remember him telling me that the Mall was often crowded back then.

Agony at Sunday River (well it used to be agony on my legs when it had bumps). Also I like Bim's Whim.

I have always liked the name Tippecanoe (waterville). It is just fun to say.

Weren't too many bumps on Agone this season heh?? Did you ski it anyway? It did seem to live up to it's name for a few though..heard a lot of scraping rocks and saw a lot of accidents..

Of course I skied. There were a few days that my legs were sore skiing it. I hope they keep the groomers off it this year except after they make snow on it the first time. Then they should groom it and blow the typical whalebacks on top of the base. Then let the skiers make some bumps.

the best "trail" names are almost always those that are not on the map. there are so many memorable and creative names for some great shots.

i will echo sled in giving a nod to intimidator at saddleback. paradise (mrg) is a great name because it is so fitting. valhalla at jay is different name that i enjoy and fits the mood. i always liked hardscrabbles at cannon as well. teardrop at mansfield always seemed like a really cool name too. names that are not only different but also incorporate some indication of the geography or feel of the trail always interest me most.

I remember at Killington a few years ago when I had a bunch of locals in the gondola referring to Bear's Ass as just "The Ass". LOL.

Liked it when Mt. Snow's "Jaws" was "Jaws of Death". It also was "Slalom Galde" at one time which was kind of weak...

Ripcord used to be slalom glade, before snowmaking was added and additional trees cut

How about Chop Chop at Kilington! :) A guy I used to work with used to say that to me all the time.....I wanted to get a picture of that sign so I could show it to him.

Or how about Oz at Sunday River.

If you had gone down Chop Chop this past season, your skis would have been chopped chopped because of all the stumps sticking up. They did not do a good job of cleaning that trail.

I don't really have to many trail names that I really like. Anything with Ledges sounds fun to me, but it's usually more about the character of the trail, it's view if any, and the significance of it in my day of skiing. Though a similar note, the Upper Williamson trail at Sunapee will be renamed this year in honor of longtime Mt. Sunapee ski patroller Murray. The trail will apropriately be named "Stovepipe" as Murray always patrolled with a pipe in his mouth.

Since many of these names have an ominous undertone, I thought I would throw Catacombs from Jiminy Peak in the mix.
