Hello, I haven't been in many years and my memory is fuzzy even on a good day  ... could someone compare the trail ratings at the new Crotched to other areas? We are most familiar with Pats Peak, Sunapee, Cannon. For example my daughter is comfortable on blues at Pats but mostly greens at Cannon, with Sunapee somewhere in between. Thanks so much

hello, you guys hsould have no problem skiing the blues and greens at crotchet. there nice and wide and are groomed offen. as far as steepness, there is not al ot of steep terrane material at the mtn, so the is a good possability that you can find a black that isnt to much diffrent from a blue at pats or a blue at sunapee. there is a good amout of blue terraine accesable(sp?) from almost very chair. enjoy and let us know how crotchet worked out! good luck.

IMO, greens at Crotched are a bit harder than the greens at Pats, but the blues are about the same as the blues at Pats. You can get longer runs in at Crotched, though, since you don't have the flat runout you have after going down the blues at Pats.

I haven't been down the blacks at Crotched yet, but the main black run, Pluto's Plunge, doesn't look too much steeper than the blue trail next to it. I do plan to give it a go sometime this season.

Crotched's a great ski area. I've never been in a lift line there, they do a great job with snowmaking and grooming, and there's plenty of space to make your own tracks. Go and enjoy. :D

Regarding terrain, Crotched Mountain is an excellent alternative to Pat's Peak. One difference is that Pat's Trails are lined with forest coverage where most of Crotched is open, thus WIND is more apparent, however over time this will change.

If you enjoy Pat's from Salem, for a few more minutes driving you will enjoy Crotched.

Have Fun!
