Its not a big deal to look at how a ski is shaped, and make a general opinion on how the ski would perform.
I look forward to you contributing here a commentary of next year's skis, based on how they are shaped on the manufacturer's advertisement!

Most people can do this if theyre above say intermediate level.
I struggle to find the link between skill level and the ability to translate ski shape to performance characteristic.

I find it laughable that most of you guys think this can somehow be prevented by the demo dudes in the tent and would let if affect your perception of the company, given that it was some rando demoing them from them in the first place.
Actually, I found it laughable that many think the demo dudes CAN'T do anything about people who took the ski out for far too long. They don't, but not because they can't.

All they have to do is run the credit card of anyone taking a ski out. If they never took one single pair of skis for more than 2 hrs, the whole day of demo, no matter how many pairs they tried, will be free of charge. But if they took one single pair out for more than 3 hrs, the credit card will be charged for a half day rental. Granted, if they decided to order that particular skis, the "rental" charge will be credited to the purchase price anyway, so for anyone who truly "fall in love" with a skis, no lost in money at all! ;-)

I asked the rep about this. I thought the people should be charged a day's demo rental (typically what? $40?) if they disappeared for longer than a given amount of time. She said there is no company policy for what to do about this situation, so her hands are tied. There is nothing she can do about someone taking a pair for an all-day demo.

She also did say she typically reminds people to only take a few runs, but couldn't remember if she did or not in this particular case. She may have assumed these folks got the whole idea of a demo day. I don't think she'll forget in the future.
