Leaving the Sugarbush vs Killington conditions debate aside, I was told conditions at a major Norther VT resort were fantastic on Wednesday, but had really deteriorated by Friday. Any first hand reports?

It's all disappearing very quickly. But no worries... there's still plenty to make for a great April of skiing in N VT!

As for general conditions: the skiing is great. Yup... bare spots are appearing. But it's spring skiing... corn bumps and soft snow on sunny 45 degree days! Life is good!

Yep.

Burke lost a lot JUST ON Thursday...temps in the 50's, rain, and fog hammer natural snow. It was good yesterday.

Is the 5-24" base number accurate still. That's not much.

Overall, I'd say yes. The 5 is the shallower natural trails and glades. The SM runs were still quite solid....especially Dippers, Carriage Road, Willoughby, and Bear Den.

I'd be interested to know how MRG is holding up. I'm planning to ski there on April 6. They're aiming to stay open until Easter.

So do you think they'll last till Friday or Sat of this week?

I was there yesterday. It's in ok shape right now. Upper mountain off the single is great, but it is deteriorating pretty quickly. Unless some decent snow falls, April 6th might be a stretch.

But it's great right now.

We'll see how it goes. We might just have to "settle" for LP... ;)

Not me. I'm settling for hiking Mt. Ellen. Until LP gets rained out and they have to reopen ME, of course! There are already some bare spots showing up on Stein's, and that's supposed to be THE spring trail.
