Similar pet peeve, and only at JCPenney, the cashier always tells you how much money you have "saved" today. I am dying to say, no, I saved nothing today, as I wouldn't have bought that tee shirt for $24, nor those pants for $60. That drives me nuts.

Not only at JCPenny but also Kohl's and some grocery stores around me too.
