I'm sure there's probably a scientific way to test this.

I still think snowboards freak some people out solely based on the noise they make when sliding a bit. IMHO....

Im guilty of laying on an edge to make a loud sound for someone thats sliding erratically in front of me...

yeah I know... spare me all the BS....

I skied and boarded for a number of years so I try not to really get involved in any of these types of debates. It would almost be like arguing with myself. :spin:

On groomed trails, tougher to tell. Not a factor in my mind. On powder days though, the evidence is clear. Low skill boarders inflict huge damage/waste when they heelside slip down unpacked snow. I do see that a lot. Skiers don't sideslip down unpacked snow because it is almost impossible to do. Once wedge type skiers flail in soft snow they don't usually come back for more. Skilled boarders on the other hand are a joy to behold on a powder day. They leave a similar narrow track as a skilled skier and watching the fluidity is great.

Not that I have anything against someone out there trying to learn to ski/ride powder, and leaving faceplant divots the whole way down. But if you heelside scrape the whole way down, you aren't learning anything.

Todays helmet cam picked up a lot of my board...
I don't think I'm damaging... :)

tomorrows helmet cam footage will be be better now that i figured out how to place this thing...
