This is my first season with custom footbeds. I feel they have definitely improved my skiing. I've had a chronic problem of skiing in the "back seat" (and still do at times), but I think the footbeds have helped put me in a better position. If anything, they make it easier for me physically keep myself forward. The are pretty comfortable, but I do get some foot pain on the inner arches (I know, I know - loosen the boots). I can deal with it though and have no problem skiing a full day with the boots locked down pretty tight which is what I'm accustomed to.

hard to answer question because while they have not specifically improved my skiing, they have made my feet more comfortable. there's an ever so slight increase in edge performance, especially those with flat feet and no arch though.

"Definitely improved my skiing"? might be a stretch. More comfy? Absolutely. Less fatique? Yes. Help me kick my crack habit and bring world peace? No.

I'm not sure how to answer this poll. I just got some this year, but I've only put about 6 hours on them. So far they seem alright, but they make my arches a little sore. Other than that I don't get the pain I've had in the past.

Yes

Couldn't really reply to the poll, however, as someone else pointed out, not sure it's improved my skiing but my feet feel better at the end of the day.

My boot liners are also custom. Very comfy.

improved comfort only

At the begining of the season I purchased a pair of Nodica Beast 12 which felt comfortable enought at the begining of the day and greatly improved my skiing. However: by days end the ball of my foot was in great pain and I needed to do something. I had a pair inexpensive, Sole ($29.99) foot beds that I got last year that I tried one day and found it was a small improvement over the original foot beds.

This encouraged me to invest in a pair of custom molded Super Feet foot beds. ($99) These were a major improvement. I've only skied a couple of times with them but both times my feet were in much less pain at the end of the day than they were with the standard foot beds.

How do you like your Nordica Beasts? I was recommended that boot for my somewhat high volume foot, so it will be one the ones I look at when I go to buy new boots next year.

I haven’t skied on a lot of different equipment so I have a rather limited experience for comparison purposes. Compared to my old boots which were a low end beginner to intermediate level boot these babies are sweet. They keep me in a much better more forward ski posture, the old boots allowed me to get lazy and ski in a more relaxed posture which of course helped create bad habits. This means it’s a bit more tiring when I am taking it easy and skiing cruisers but I think worth it.

The Beast 12 is a stiffer boot than Beast 10 and has an adjustment on the back to set the stiffness level. I haven’t tried it on the lower setting yet I think I will try to remember to carry the tool with me next weekend and try switching it back and forth to see how it performs on the other setting. I so far I am glad I went with the Beast 12, the extra stiffness seams to translate into a lot more control on hard pack and boiler plate than my old boots had. They also are able to slam thru heavy crud with out getting so pushed around as the old boots did.

That’s my take on them, Im happy with their performance. I have a high volume foot with a high instep and they worked out ok for me.
