Does Wachusett leave enough alone?

all groomed

I was there this morning. They left the summit ungroomed until 10. the groomers were working the trails as i left (and the rain started) on all the trails. Expect 100 percent groomed cord tomorrow. Nothing will be natural. It will be good but only seeded bumps on tenth mountain trail. If you want natural head to Magic for the best natural skiing you can imagine.

I am only boooing the R, not the suggestion, because we are headed back up tomorrow night. Gstock is a great option for a quick day trip if North of Boston.

OP said "metro Boston." Not sure which direction. Probably west...thus "Wachusett."

Why be sorry? Gunstock is a great place to ski. :flag:

I like Gunstock, but one day per season is enough for me. It's location is only slightly more convenient than Loon. I haven't been to Gunstock since Boyne created the All New England Pass, I used to do Gunstock via SkiNH passes; they were fun!

Dang.. they should have updated their snow report. Not mentioning the more recent rain is very misleading.

Sorry, but if you looked under the "weather" category it clearly says the weather is RAIN. Misleading?

But it also says "forecast", not current.

I think you need to expand your knowledge base beyond ski area snow reports (which are updated once or twice a day at best) to set an expectation for conditions. A quick look at the radar would have told you it rained in a lot of areas, including NE Mass.

I love Gunstock too. In fact, my family has already done two day trips to Gunstock this season. From where I'm coming, Gunstock is slightly closer than Loon too (1:40 vs. 2:00). But it's out of the question since it got rained. Maybe Loon tomorrow then.

go to BEAST.
Straight shot down RT 2. BEAST smokes wachusett in every way but convenience. You can make BEAST in a lil over an hour from Wa. And I'm a wa wa pass holder...

Failing that, go to Sneaux...they got a ton of snow today.
