Dyna Twister Decision

So I found a pair of Dynastar Twisters, I think 2003-2004, 168cm, for $180 at a ski swap. Pretty good condition, better condition probably than my Cabrawlers.

So tempted, but I only have about 25 days on my Cabrawlers. In addition, the bindings on them would have to go - they're Marker M1000s, and on lifters. Plus I've never skied the, and I promised myself the next pair of skis I got were going to be demoed first.

But then again, they're Twisters, and about the right length. I mean, there is a reason I'm not saying exactly where I found them, in case, for example, jack97 or powbmps happens across this thread.

Couple more days to decide. Arggh.

Sounds kinda steep for 4 year old used boards, but hey, they are Twisters, a seemingly beloved ski.

I had a pair ...are they the blue ones ??? I loved em but $180 sounds very steep for used bump boards

Blue, with the storm clouds, not the dark blue with the panther.

As far as being used goes, the only significance is that they'll have to be remounted. I doubt they've seen more than 5 days judging from how good of condition the top sheet is in.

I'm not sure if I should be worried about the sheer age, though.

So where did you say those were located?:wink:

They've got the same turn radius (20m @ 168cm), measurements (98/66/85) and weight as the most recent model so they sound like essentially the same ski.

I wouldn't think that the age would be a problem. Up until last year my friend was skiing on Assault Superiors from the late 90's. He's put a lot of days on them with no problems.

Random fact: The msrp on those Assaults was like $850. Maybe the F17 is priced right where it should be .

So based on feedback on the mogulskiing forums, it's a no-go. 168s are sounding too short, given that they're softer than the Cabrawlers I've got that are 171s.
