I had a $50 gift card to EMS from Christmas, so I went in the other day....ended up getting a Double Ski Bag as my single is wearing and I had to throw out my wifes single as it was shot. This EMS bag is heavily padded, 2 internal pockets for each set of skis and room in the middle for poles....the problem is, the bag does not fit 2 pairs of skis!!!! its too narrow, measuring only 8.5" wide (the solomon is 16") Who does product testing?? they test this bag with skis with no bindings??? Great looking bag, but just doesnt work...I now have to return and get the Solomon from the SnoHaus....

Unfortunately you hit the nail right on the head... I was just recently discussing the lack of EMS product testing last week with a co-worker, and from what I have been seeing recently, EMS does not seem to do enough, or in some cases, ANY product testing.

I've seen mistakes that would've been avoided if they took one day to try stuff out... but unfortunately that's not the case and some of the products this year are just... well, shit.

Very sad... and thanks for the heads up!

BTW, on the EMS website you can leave product reviews - I have and hope that corporate takes a look at them.

Interesting. Maybe they it was designed for Nordic Skis and was mis-marketed?

I was happy with their stuff last year and the year before, but it seems to be going back the wrong way....

Don't get me started, I have seriously lost my faith in that company... last year was a great winter selection year.

They want to market to the younger "hip" snowboarding and skiing crowd... but the snowboard selection is limited (and only some stores carry snowboards) and there are no alpine skis.
An outdoor store trying to fake as an alpine skiing store... just doesn't work. And that's just one of the problems that's making them not see the numbers they saw last year (which was also a poor winter year... so that's no excuse).
