Winter Olympics are so much better than the Summer. Majority of the sports pit the competitors against each other and the venue that they are competing in.

I don't like the "conquer nature" bit at the end. But that's a bigger fish to fry and I don't want to get all political up in here.

Also hope/pray the Russians can lock the venues down and avoid any international incidents(suicide bombers and such) during the games. It would be nice if we could all play nice together. Unfortunately it ain't like that anymore... :-(

With manmade snow and ice, massive arenas, skin tight poly suits and carbon fiber everything nature has little to do with it.

Ah well what do I know, but given what management thinks will turn on the adrenalin crazed to watch television, not surprising...they've explored every other avenue...lol.

Or Atlanta ...

I barely remember this, but wasn't this just one instance, not a series of instances leading up to the games? I will have to check the Wikipedia page on the Munich games...

Edit: a quick glance over at Wikipedia confirms that there was just the one instance in Atlanta. I remember the security guard, Richard Jewell was a suspect... And I was only a month old during the Munich games. I am sort of a history buff so I have heard the story of the Israelie athletes at some point. Just didn't realize when/where that happened and all the details. Sucks that people were killed. But do we really just accept that cause "hey its the Olympics"?
