Esophus Creek N.Y kayaking - July 30th 2005

I had never been kayaking in my own state, so my son and I decided to take a trip down the Esophus Creek which is a fairly steep alpine creek located close to Belleayre ski center.

This is a creek that has a large and successful tubing operation running on it out of Phonecia, so we were not alone on the creek. This is probably one of the most exciting rivers that I have ran, with lots of whitewater and narrow channels with fast current.

I saw a fair share of banged up people and popped tubes as the creek is very rocky and not that easy to run.

There was a professional photographer (actually from Hunter Mountain) that takes pictures of the tubers as they make there way down the creek.

My wife(kayak shuttle driver ) asked the guy to take some pictures of Warren and I. They actually came out really nice.
