Good. Bring it on! Not that I have any faith at all in the FA, but hey this seems like a prediction I can get behind...

The FA nailed last winter and especially nailed last years hurricane season with Katrina and all so I don't understand your reasoning.

I generally ignore it when they predict a long range forecast I don’t like, but when I like the forecast it gives me something to hope for. Mobile truth I guess.

I'm the same way. Now if only this predicted colder winter has more snow than average then I'll be happy. At least if it is colder and stays colder the resorts will be able to blow more snow, which would be a good thing too..

NWS forecast is similar to last years- approximately an even chance that temperatures and precipitation will be above, below, or at normal levels. I figure with that kind of reasoning, the forecast's gotta be spot on.

They sure nailed that cold and snowy forcast.

They said there was going to be more precip than normal with fluctuating temperatures. People on this board like to turn that into more snow thn on average but thats because everyone on here likes to wishfully think.

We sure had above average snowfall in the flatlands as NYC had it's 4th straight year with 40" of snowfall or better, but up in the mountains.........................

Ok here you go from the Washington Post to prove you ignorant people wrong.

correctly predicted a "polar coaster" of dramatic swings for last winter, editor Peter Geiger said. For example, New York City collected 40 inches of snow even though it was one of the warmest winters in the city's history.

twintips is right, it was largely an average season of snowfall for the larger mountains. the problem was the roller coaster temperature pattern with warm weather and rains following almost every significant dump.
