if i factor in reality i'd go with Sugarbush. unrealisticlly (as in i'll probably never get back there) then i go with AlpineMeadows

West - resort/MT. Steamboat hands down. Great resort town, great terrain/snow.
East - Mountian - Sugarbush Resort - Tremblant, yeah it is Disneyesque but it is a cool place to spend a weeknd.
Runner up Mountian in the East for selfish reasons Gunstock, familiarity, kids love it, close to the house, and that old school feel. I know it doesn't hold a candle to alot of places but it is getting the job done for our family.

....I think I would agree that Stowe would be the best resort in the East because it has just about everything you can ask for from a resort....
...including $6 p&j sandwiches.

you can still get a monster plate of fries and a big pint for $8 total in the Spruce lodge.
