Stuck in aspen for 2 more days...watching the snow pounding down last night at happy hour...i knew it.
Now our group of 40...just woke up to this.
But hey..not a bad place to get stuck at. Over 40 inches so far and more coming.
Stuck?

(are the lifts not running?)

Could always hit Waterville tomorrow. Will probably become your least favorite ski area also.

where did you stay up there? Im still trying to get my first time there as well. Hoping this saturday. Was all that terrain closed cuz of refreeze i.e. if new snow come sand sunny over weekend it will be open from what you gathered or TBD? TKS

It and loaf are both in the middle of nowhere. I stayed near Portland on the way up and drove 2.5 hrs up Friday morning. I stayed in an Airbnb in Farmington last night that’s about an hour from SR loaf and Saddleback in different directions

The snow was 2 feet of fresh from last weekend>a few days of warm and wet > 2” overnight and 1 or 2 more while skiing. Low angle skied great but steepest pitches were lunar. Will be great after this next storm

If you want to stay in Rangeley I recommend Town & Lake Motel. I've stayed there a few times. Rooms are very comfortable and it's in a nice spot right on the lake. It's noisy during the height of snowmobile season (to be fair, the whole town is) but you won't have to deal with that this time of year.

Also last year I stayed at Hunter Cove cabins which I found via Saddleback's website. They're down a really isolated dirt road and it was a really neat and serene place. Deer in the backyard every morning.

I’ll be at Killington for the teeth of it, curious to see what, if anything, they open Wednesday. Glad I’m staying on the access road for this.

Happy SNOW Easter everybody. We are looking at the possibly of 20"-30" of new SNOW coming!!
Multiple days of Heavy SNOW and WINDS on the way. There is the potential for the biggest SNOW STORM of the season heading our Northeast way (4/3-4/5).
Possible (Stalling and Bombogenesis)
4:35 Starts the Northeast

Killington raraely closes 100%. Something will be running. It has many exposures, so if it is too windy on one side, the back side shouldn't be too bad.
