So a disturbed Jetstream next week will usher in opportunities for Clipper systems and the JAY CLOUD starting on the weekend. Possible Foot or more accumulations over a few days for the Northern parts of Vermont by midweek next week.

The Single Chair Weather Blog blog'n for powder (MadRiverGlen)

Unprecedented winter storm paralyzes Gulf Coast with record-breaking snow even in Florida. Only missed the Northeast Ski mountains by 1000 miles :)

Snowfall records broken

Multiple locations in Florida recorded enough snow to preliminarily shatter the state’s all-time snowfall record of 4 inches set in 1954.
More than a foot of snow fell in Louisiana, the high mark from the storm.

New Orleans shattered its modern all-time daily snowfall record on Tuesday, receiving 8 inches of snow, far surpassing the previous record of 2.7 inches. The city has recorded more snowfall this month than Anchorage, Alaska, which has seen nearly two inches in January. The Big Easy typically sees measurable snow only about once per decade.
Other Southern cities also broke long-standing snowfall records:
  • Mobile, Alabama, reported 7.5 inches, exceeding the previous 3.6-inch record from 1973.
  • Pensacola, Florida, recorded 7.6 inches, surpassing its 2.3-inch record from 1954.
  • Milton, Florida, recorded the most snow in Florida: a preliminary total of 10 inches

We are at "Week 13" on (1/26/25) on a Normal COLD Sunday in the Northeast. A ACTIVE WEATHER PATTERN IS SET UP FOR THE WEEK AHEAD!!
The Northeast is in really good shape for this weekend with the current trail conditions featuring large trail counts with firm snow on trail and packed powder just about everywhere else be it windblown or that just lightly fell out of the sky. Most Northeast mountains are nearing full trail counts being open. The Northeast is just looking forward to ANY major winter storm system. There are multiple days of lurking snow systems next week lets keep our SNOW fingers crossed. The West is also looking to get some NEW SNOW soon. There are Skiable and Rideable mountains all over North America so a tasting of what is considered open terrain with Trail counts this point in the season "WEEK 13" around North America. These are considered lift serviced trails at some of the open ski mountains on Sunday 1/26/25. Hike to your delight for more trail fun.

My CT school not off. i am heading up for afternoon tomorrow and all day Thursday. Options; Stratton/K. Bolton/Bush. Stratton/stratton or magic. What do they weather people say here for that west/north west wind coming in? what would you choose, rough life making these calls. Stratton appears to be getting the most of the snow by an inch or two and we know up north has been crushing it. im leaning Stratton then K at the moment. CHeers
Can get all morning info and data on ride up to pivot as needed
