I had a little time this evening so I can describe the trip a little better;
We started at 2 am, from Bamburg thruough the thickest fog I've ever seen( and i've been to california)so a normaly four hour dive became a six hour marathon. Everyone tried to get a little shuteye but the van was a little cramped some people tried to lay on the floor there were legs evrywhere. We only made one stop on the way and breakfast consisted of two bannas and a snickers bar some people didnt eat at all. The group finallaly arrived at about 830 and started the long gondola ride up 2-3,000 feet to the glacier. the wind at the top was bitter (I forgot a neck gator burrrr), and the snow was really thin on the south face and very icy,mean ice too you couldnt cach an edge unless you were riding on razors, poor choice for the first run of the season I took a mean fall ont the ice and was worried that I had melted my pants(never knew my but could get so hot on ICE) made halfway down the run before I could stop.The north slope had good snow but the runs wew all pretty short and all the had were tbars( efective but uncomfortable especialy for all us snowboarders)I ended up spending the majortiy of the tirp around the peak good long runs with a few places to cach a some air.Had lunch at a nice little cafe about halfway down the mountain, great food. Scenery was the best I've ever seen(pics soon) and it was the best trip I ever had(my knees wern't happy with me though).
