I headed out to FOMBA for my first MTB ride in 4 or 5 years. I don't remember what air pressures I used to run for my tires or fork so I was pretty much just winging it. I started out on the 0.2 mile Sampler to get the feel back. After that I let a bunch of air out of my tires and headed over to Moose Track and then Fisher Cat. I had a few stupid falls but over all I was happy for my first day out. I then took a fire road back over to Red Pine, which was always my favorite trail. After Red PIne and the log roll I hit Sampler again then took off to ride Fireline. On my way I came across Woodpecker, a new trail since I had last been out here so I jumped in to check it out. What a awesome trail. It was pretty smooth and flowed great. It was nice to have a break from all the rocks and roots.

Fireline seems to have been redone since last time I rode it because it is nothing like I remember. The sign said it was 3 miles, I remember it being somewhere around 1. It has lots of technical uphills which I was having some trouble with, I couldn't seem to find the right gear. After coming out of Fireline I wanted to hit Woodpecker again in the other direction but somehow blew it on a turn somewhere and ended up in the playground of the Auburn Village School. I turned around t go find it but this time ended up back at the parking lot so I just called it a day and went home. Looking at the map I know where I messed up the turn now, oh well, I'll know next time. It was a short day, 6.9 mi on sngletrack and a few more on fireroads, but it was great ot be back out on the bike.

Great job getting back on the bike! I'd never heard of FOMBA before, so I googled it, looks like a nice place to ride.

Always nice to see TRs for different spots. Glad you rediscovered MTB. I got back into it last year after a 10 year hiatus. Best thing I ever did. No looking back now. Enjoy relearning things!
