Originally I'm from Chicago and we could get gyros cooked on a spit, also a good burrito was available at any little taco stand. Trouble is, here in beantown, I can't find gyros cooked like that, they are pre-pressed and frozen and as tasty as a 3 year old powerbar. Does anyone know where I could find a good burrito and or gyro's cooked on a spit?
Thanks in advance.

There's a gyro place on Washington Street at Downtown Crossing, in either the Macy's or Filene's building, I forget which. Used to see them load the spit every morning on my way to work. Never ate there, though.

I could name a place or two on the North Shore but seeing as you live in Dedham that wouldn't really help. If you ever do come to the North Shore check out Brothers in Danvers square.

Thanks for all the suggestions. Is the place in Durham near any ski places? A gyro would really hit the spot after a day on the slopes.
