How do you control your speed when it really starts picking up? I end up losing control and my skis get away from me. Do you just "hit" the bumps harder or push into them more?
Rousseau & CJ say:
Also you can turn earlier. "Early On The Downhill Ski." Getting your weight on the new DH ski early in the turn gives you speed control from the edge biting in during the top half of the turn. In deep bumps, you can roll the knees early and get on the new edge ASAP.
Then pull your heels back to prevent the skis from jetting.
Another thing you can do for more speed control is "Foot To Foot." Think of shifting your weight 100% onto one foot, then 100% onto the other, as if you were on parallel balance beams. The focused weight will give you more edge bite = better speed control.
