I was fortunate enough to hook up with a group going to Grindewald this February. Anyone been there? I'm looking for any advice about getting aroung there and where the goods (steeps and powder)can be found. Thanks for any help you can offer.

ps - Cannon is opening under the tram this year if natural snow depths allow. They also cut a trail to the skiers right that should open next year. Awesome additions to an already great area!

i think the trail to skiers right you are referring to is visible from the kinsman ridge trail that ascends cannon mountain. at least, i saw what looked like a thinned out glades trail when i hiked cannon late this past summer. you can see the clearing of trees and ribbons attached to trees. from what i've heard, i don't think this was a recent cutting.

also, new glades off vista way are suppose to open as well. they were skiable but unmarked last year

with these new expert trails and glades, along with the mitersill expansion next year, cannon is set to make their already legendary status seem weak! i can't wait. cannon continues to be my home mountain despite the fact i live 2 hours from away.
