Trip Report:

First trip of the year to my favorite home away from home, Gunstock! Seeing my family has a house right across the street from there, it was a perfect time to finally hit the hill. I was the 3rd person on the lift going up the Panorama Quad to take in some delicious corduroy goodness (yes I cannot believe I said that, but this winter I will take what I can get!) I lapped Trigger, Recoil, and Gunsmoke a few times. It was fast and good and the crowds were not too bad either. I then next hit up Flintrock to Redhat and then back up the slow cannonball triple to ski Tiger. Next made my way back up to the summit to ski Trigger a few more times. Finally finished up on the Pistol complex before the morning was out. All in all a great morning outing and 4 hours of non-stop skiing! Some pics below: Major kudos to Gunstock for getting the mountain in tip top shape after the nasty Ice Storm they had Friday...

Looks like you're the only one who skied all weekend! Was the lake entirely frozen or could you see open water - I'm assuming some large areas of open water. how much natural snow in the woods - couple of inches?

Glad someone got out. Doesn't look like you did too bad for yourself either. Thanks for the photos too!

It was a really great morning out on the snow. Aside from the donkey who wouldn't let me ride up the lift with him and his son (I ski solo mostly), it was a really good day out there.

thanks for coming out. Dont listen to the weather people, our snow staff is working overtime to keep the mountain fun!

Your staff did a great job getting the trails going! Redhat by far was the bees knees the couple of times I took it yesterday... Although one recommendation, when loading up the lift for the panorama pub, do it before the lifts start turning for the day. Made for a little bit of a wait on and off the lift. Otherwise, felt great to be back at my home away from home, now just re-cut some of those old Alpine Ridge, along with Ramrod from the top down to Trigger :)

If it weren't for my son's hockey game that day, we would've been there too. Gunstock is where I learned to ski so I'm partial to the place too. Thanks for the pics! I'll be heading there in the next couple of weeks.
