Had any?

I'm the guy that wears a helmet because people pull down the safety bar before I'm sitting back.

I sat on a chair where the pad wasn't fastened. The chair lifted me off the ground, physics worked against me where the friction of my pants couldn't overcome the angle of the chair pad working with gravity and the next thing I know I'm sliding out of the chair and landing on the ground below it.

Load a triple chair with 2 other people, the chair takes a pretty good initial swing, the guy to my left hooks a tip in the snow and out he goes.

Load a chair on a cold day with snow guns blasting all the way up. At the summit, I unload, hear screaming and turn to see my daughter suspended nearly upside down by her pants which froze to the chair.

I had to be lowered from a lift that failed at Mt Snow. It was a long time ago so I don't remember it that well I was probably in my very early teens. I think it was just a power issue. Was on the lift for about an hour while they went top to bottom and roped people down.

Got a nice big black and blue on the top of my calf from Madonna I and Sterling nailing me every time I got on this past weekend at Smuggs. Somebody gotta tell the lifties to brace the chair when people are loading, or maybe next time I will have to do a better job at jumping on! Otherwise, the skiing was great! What a great mountain.

I was riding the summit chair at Whiteface a few years ago and there was a snow gun faceing up towards the lift. When I got to the top I attempted to ski down the ramp and my skies just stopped. Double eject. The snowgun had coated the bottom of my skies with a layer of ice that looked like the texture of a football. The liftie laughed.

A few years back I got on the HSQ at Sunapee with a few much smaller kids. They unloaded before I did and the seat tilted down. I fell right in front of the lift but they never stopped the lift...I had to slide on my back forward and out of the way. Embarassing for me but in hindsight they really should have stopped the lift to let me get clear.

I had complained at the bottom that this was an "expert lift" and therefore it shouldn't be stopped.

This one was funny because no one was hurt and it didn't happen to me ;)

It was one of the final weekends of spring skiing at Mount Snow, we were in line at the Challenger Triple on the North Face waiting to go up. There were 3 guys preparing to get on a chair and all of a sudden, a lady (in sweatpants) came out to load (the chair was already full) The 3 guys jumped to the side, the liftie hit the stop button, but it ended up that the lady got bumped by the chair into a pond of Spring Mud that was in front of the chair.

She was fine. Her kids were yelling "Mom, what were you thinking". The toughest part is, she was covered in Vermont Spring Mud and the only way back to the base from the North Face is to get on the chair, go to the summit, and ski back down.

A few years back at Greek, someone managed not to load the chair with their friends, they ended up in front of the loading area. The next group got on the next chair, they slammed into the back of this guy's legs, he fell into the lap of one of the people on the chair. I said, " Wow I thought this was a family resort.". It looked a little X rated.

I was loading the Adirondack Express at Gore, the safety bar became detached and fell on top of me. A couple weeks ago at Greek, I pushed down on the foot rest to slide my poles under my butt, the thing broke right off and fell to the ground, luckily it didn't hit anyone. I haven't seen a chair missing a foot rest, they must have replaced the safety bar.

My fiancee (this was 35 years ago) unloaded too soon from the short side of the Double Runner at Sugarloaf, on her third day of skiing. She went off the side of the ramp, slid down the slope and wound up underneath the platform. The attendant said, "I've never seen anyone do that before!" It wasn't until the next day, at Camden Snow Bowl, that she ran into a tree and decided this sport wasn't for her.

About 20 years ago I got stuck overnight on a chairlift at West Mtn. Fortunately it wasn't that cold overnight and I was able to get first tracks the next morning. Didn't see any wolves.

Also, I was at Vail two years ago and my pants got stuck on the chairlift bar as I was getting on the lift. I ended up hanging upside down off the chairlift with my nether-parts showing until ski patrol got me down.
Unfortunately my son had to witness the whole thing, but at least we got some free hot chocolates!!!

Almost learned the hard way to be very careful when wearing a backpack on the lift. Was in Park City and a buckle got caught in the armrest. Skied off and came to a quick stop. Somehow managed to get my arms out and unhook the pack from the chair without it having to stop or triggering the wand.

The more stories I read, the better I feel about not putting the bar down. Then again I was at Wachusett the other day and the lift stopped more suddendly than I have ever seen before and almost sent me and my buddies straight off.

Another time I went on a work ski trip, the week leading up to it one guy was talking about safety meetings non stop. So I figure why not give him a small peice of a cookie I had as to not be constantly stopping for safety meetings (work ski trip afterall). About 2 hours later on a lift ride up I hear "Ohh man I can see every snow flake." Here we go I thought.

We take a run, get back to the quad and theres no line, but a woman in her 60's decided, for whatever reason, to make 4. I was feeling pretty "unsafe" so I tell everyone our group to hang back and wait for the next chair. The cookied up co worker either doesn't hear or ignores it and steps out with the lady. Wouldn't of been bad if they were side by side, but the chair swings around and somehow he's standing right in front of her.

She sits down on the chair, he looked back and realizes we're not on the chair, then sits down on her lap. The guy is 6'3" and probably 270 sitting on a 60 year old woman, I felt bad for her. The entire lift ride up behind them we can hear the lady yelling at/berating him for sitting on her. Come to find out the co worker hadn't been attended a safety meeting in 3 years and just liked to talk a good game.

I slipped off the Jordan quad at Sunday River. It was a combination of a chair slick with rain and me slouching in the chair. I slipped before the chair got off the ground. Buddies tried to hang on to me but couldn't. Lift had to stop and I had to walk to the next chair which was just being loaded. The most embarassing part was being "that guy" who stopped the lifts.
