Help with Bindings

Hi ! So recently I purchased snowboard bindings, I usually fit in a medium (I'm a side 9). It was a flash sale, and I got the last pair of what I thought were mediums. Turns out they were a small in a medium box. They refuse to let me return them, and say I can expand them. Are they lying or is it possible?

Thanks!

I am assuming that they do not fit you boots now? You can easily replace the toe sliders to a larger size. Does you boot actually fit into the binding?

WOW. They are typically a good group. Any specific reason why they will not let you exchange them?

I would demand to speak to the owner/manager. If you had bought a M in a M box I can sorta understand them. But they fucked up and put a S in a M box.
What kind of bindings are they?

I'm at work right now, can't remember off the top of my head, but yeah that's what I told them, and they said they wouldn't honor the medium in the medium box which I thought was not right

They would not even honor a credit that has to be spent there? That is odd.

I would see if you can sell them on Craigslist for what you paid or more if possible. Then look up bindings online and buy there!

I would demand to speak to the owner/manager, not the part time help standung at the counter. If that doesn't work, social media and other online sites are very powerful sites to use nowadays.
If you go posting a review on any sites, do not lie about any of the facts, but I wouldn't mention that you biught them for only $30. You will be contacted pretty quick from them trying to correct the situation...

My toe over hangs about 1 to 2 inches

It's not unusual for a snowboard boot toe to overhang a binding (most do). Don't let that be your only criteria. See pic below. That pic is meant more to show proper alignment of the binding on the board, but as you can see boots generally overhang the binding a bit.

The more important issue for sizing is whether or not the straps fit around your boots. Most straps are adjustable to some extent. If you have them extended all the way out and they still don't fit around your boot then they are definitely too small.

I'd bring the bindings with your boots back to the shop. Let them see that it was a S in a M box. Let them see that they don't fit your boots (or let them fix it so they do).

A one inch overhang probably isn't a big deal...2 inches could cause problems. As long as your toes don't scrape the ground when you're up on the edge they should be fine. $30 for bindings is really cheap...what brand are they?

They are Atomic straight shot tikas

Wow you did get a great deal! I looked them up and if they do not work out, ask for $50 on Craigslist and buy a new pair. The cheapest I found was $99. The small bindings are for boot sizes 6-8.5 according to specs. FWIW
