Or I could always stop in at some other point considering I'm in the MRV area pretty much every weekend in the winter skiing next door  This time it just happened that I literally walked within 5 feet of the store and didn't go in and should have!

That too. And if you haven't checked them out, go to the New England Ski Museum's online store:

My over the shoulder boot strap I use says Mad River Glen on it. Also have one of their ski pins on my pin hat with about 50 others. Rarely wear it but it's a good place to keep all my ski area pins in one spot.

I laughed when the ski patrollers were telling the story about the guy that they had to take down on a sled 3 times in 2 days...and on the 3rd trip down they said they gave him a wild ride and never saw him again after that!

Mid 90's at SR - Brought a young teen snowboarder down, w/ a broken arm (ulna/radius)... Clinic did X-Rays and casted him, and told him to take the rest of the day off...

3-4 hours later we get a call for "White Heat, rock garden, off trail". Same kid, other arm, A/C separation, w/ a busted clavicle - BAD Day. Hopefully his reasoning has improved in 20+years....

Not the same but I skied several days with a casted broken thumb. Put a wool sock covered with a plastic bag over the cast & I was good to go. Another time I tore my rotator cuff on the first day of a five day ski vacation. Skied all week not being able to move my arm. I've never come down the mountain in a toboggan. Even when I broke my ankle & tore my ACL a few years ago I skied down under my own power.

On the same leg?? Good lord how did you turn with no ankle and acl?

I'm sure they ski patrol at MRG see some ridiculous things on a regular basis

Actually it wasn't until I got to the bottom & took off my skis that I realized how seriously I was hurt. I could hardly walk. The only reason I came down to begin with was because my goggles were filled with snow from the fall & I had to clean them out. I was seriously considering going up to the summit if not for my goggles (the accident happened near the base of the Ursa lift at Stratton).

When I got down I went in the lodge, took off my ski boots, got my VT. Pass back from the ticket agent (it happened on my first run). I told her I just got the ticket & got hurt. She said yes I can see, did you know your face is bleeding, I didn't. She gave me the pass back. I then went downstairs to clean up, mind you I could hardly walk. Came back up, picked up my skis & hobbled to my car. I then drove the 4 1/2 hours back to Brooklyn. Yes it was my driving leg that was injured. I picked up my wife from work that afternoon. She said what are you doing here knowing I had just left for VT. that morning. I said I got hurt you're driving home.

Thought it was interesting how they mentioned the first few years were lean snow years. So that happened back then too?

A 1987 episode of Chronicle on the Mad River Valley and MRG:

Listen especially to what Betsy Pratt said her plans were for MRG over the next 40 years......in 1987.
